Air Transat pursues fleet renewal with the delivery of six Airbus A310-300s
Air Transat, the leading charter carrier in Canada, will be adding six Airbus A310-300s to its fleet. The aircraft will arrive over a period starting in December 2000. This transaction is part of the fleet renewal process that began in 1998. Once completed, the fleet, which currently consists of 21 aircraft, will number 23.
“While strengthening our position as the leading charter carrier in Canada, these aircraft will also increase the efficiency of our operations,” stated Denis Jacob, President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Transat. “The Airbus A310-300s meet the conditions and requirements of tour operators, who can thus continue to offer their holiday clientele quality products at affordable prices,” he continued. “Also, given their extended range (9,600 km) and their mid-size design, these 260-seaters will enable us to provide non-stop flights to all our destinations,” concluded Mr. Jacob.
