Air Transat Reaches A Tentative Agreement With its Pilots and Flight Engineers
Air Transat and its pilots and flight engineers, represented by the Airline Pilot's Association (ALPA), have concluded negotiations pertaining to a new labour agreement. The agreement, which covers 48 months and will expire November 1st 2005, will be voted on for ratification in the coming weeks by the members. The agreement includes plans for wage increases totalling around 18% over the life of the contract.The new collective agreement is in line with the current economic climate and ensures fair working conditions for the targeted groups, just as Transat, the airline's parent company, provides for all its employees in all subsidiaries. 'Air Transat has always maintained excellent labour relations its employees and union representatives, and we are satisfied with the present agreement and all that it entails,' stated Allen B. Graham, President and CEO of Air Transat.
